Bank of England appoints new finance director from Barclays
The Bank of England has appointed Ralph Coates as its new finance director. Ralph succeeds Warwick Jones, who retired from the Bank in June. He'll start the job on 4 November.
Charlotte Hogg, chief operating officer said:
I am delighted to announce the appointment of Ralph Coates as the Bank’s new Finance Director. Ralph will bring a wealth of valuable knowledge and experience to the role and we look forward to welcoming him to the Bank.
Ralph Coates has been finance director of Barclays UK retail and business banking since August 2011. Coates has been with Barclays since 2004, after beginning his career with PwC in 1996 as an audit manager.
Coates' precessor Warwick Jones was with the Bank from 1 October 2006 before his departure, himself also coming from the banking sector. Jones held financial roles at Lloyds TSB, as finance director of Hill Samuel Bank before becoming group finance director of Leopold Joseph Holdings.
