Bale frustrated as Spurs keep him waiting
TOTTENHAM will not allow winger Gareth Bale to join Real Madrid until they have concluded a £30m deal to sign his replacement Erik Lamela from Roma.
Bale failed to report for training at Spurs yesterday and is said to be furious at the delays to his £86m would-be world record transfer to join Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
But Spurs, who were gazumped at the 11th hour by Chelsea last week for the signing of forward Willian from Anzhi Makhachkala, are not prepared to risk a repeat scenario and allow Bale to leave before adding the Argentina midfielder to their squad.
Roma’s signing of Adem Ljajic from Fiorentina yesterday should pave the way for Lamela to move to north London imminently and for Bale to finally get his wish.
Meanwhile, Spurs are also expected to complete the £8m signing of defender Vlad Chiriches from Steaua Bucharest this week.
