Great British Bake Off is coming to tech-heavy Shoreditch: GBBO 2015 winner Nadiya Hussain is putting on a Christmas baking masterclass
London's big eaters can look forward to a festive feast this weekend as Foodies Festival Christmas returns to Truman Brewery with a sprinkling of stardom. Great British Bake Off stars and top chefs will all descend on Shoreditch on Friday to get everyone in the festive spirit.
This year's winner of the BBC baking show, Nadiya Hussain, will prepare treats for her fans in the capital for the first time this weekend.
Leeds-based Hussain, who claimed the bake-off crown this year with her take on a wedding cake in the infamous show-stopper round, will also be joined at the festival by show finalist Ian Cumming.
Hussain said: "I will be baking some of my favourite festive bakes which the audience will be able to recreate at home and wow their friends and family."
Cumming, who was given some less-than friendly nicknames such as "teacher's pet Ian" after winning star-baker three weeks on the trot, will be bringing some of his famous home-made molds used on the show to work with at the festival.
Cumming said: "I love this time of year and to be part of such a big celebration of food is a joy."
