Bahrain GP reinstated
THE BAHRAIN Grand Prix has been restored to the Formula One calendar and will take place on 30 October, more than seven months later than scheduled.
The World Motor Sports Council’s decision means that the Indian Grand Prix, whose date has been assumed by Bahrain, will be put back to December.
Bahrain was originally meant to get the 2011 season underway on 13 March but was called off just weeks before following civil unrest in the Gulf kingdom.
Circuit boss Zayed Rashid Alzayani said: “This is welcome news. By the time the grand prix arrives we’ll be able to remind the world of Bahrain at its best.”
