Avram granted more time by Hammers board
WEST HAM manager Avram Grant has been handed a stay of execution by the club’s owners following Tuesday night’s Carling Cup semi-final first leg win over Birmingham.
With the Hammers currently rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, the Israeli’s future has been a matter of intense speculation, much to his own annoyance.
But with a first Wembley date in 30 years within touching distance the former Chelsea boss has been given more time to turn the club’s fortunes around.
Grant’s squad is to be bolstered by Manchester City’s left-back Wayne Bridge, who passed a medical yesterday ahead of his loan move until the end of the season.
Bridge, who was at Upton Park on Tuesday night, has made just three Premier League appearances this season, while his six other outings have all come in the Europa League.
