Audioboom, which has experienced explosive growth of 46 per cent over the past year to hit 4.6m users in December, has been lifted by teaming up with Russell Brand and the BBC.
It also lists Sky Sports and RadioX among its content providers, which now number in the thousands.
The company, aiming to be profitable by 2017, attracted attention when its shares rocketed by 1,500 per cent over the course of 2014.
The Google Play content will be available for US users only, through the Android app.
London-listed Audioboom’s stocks are down 2.86 per cent in morning trading.
