Ashton Kutcher weighs into Uber spying debacle
Actor-turned-Demi Moore toyboy-turned-tech investor, Ashton Kutcher gave his tuppence worth to the Uber spying story yesterday. The Dude, Where’s My Car star tweeted, “What is so wrong about digging up dirt on shady journalist?”
The reaction from the twittersphere was swift, and it was hard. “Dude Where’s My Orwell,” was one particularly good retort.
What is so wrong about digging up dirt on shady journalist? @pando @TechCrunch @Uber

Having received a significant backlash, Kutcher backed down. “U r all right and I’m on the wrong side of this ultimately. I just wish journalists were held to the same standards as public figures,” he said.
What spurred him to give such an impassioned (and morally questionable) defence of Uber? Well, he’s an investor. Shame he forgot he’s chairman of a media company, too.
