Appy Christmas: $1.1bn sales record breaker for Apple’s App Store
Apple is celebrating a record-breaking Christmas after people spent $1.1bn (£753m) through the App Store over the festive season.
$140m was spent on New Year's Day alone, Apple's biggest single day of sales after Christmas day.
That includes apps themselves, in-app purchases (think buying lives on Candy Crush), across iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watch and Apple TV.
“The App Store had a holiday season for the record books," said Apple's senior vice president of marketing Phil Schiller, revealing the app store brought in $20bn for the entire year.

“We're grateful to all the developers who have created the most innovative and exciting apps in the world for our customers," added Schiller.
And those developers raked in around $13bn in 2015 alone, bringing the total since 2008 when it first launched to nearly $40bn.
Apple also laid claim to the creation of 1.9m jobs in the US, citing a new report by the Progressive Policy Institute, with over 1.4m of those via the app economy.
The figures come after reports of Apple cutting production of its latest iPhone 6s models.
