Apple’s big event is happening on 7 September for expected iPhone 7 launch
It's here!
Apple has set the date for the much anticipated event where it's expected to launch its latest device – the iPhone 7.
An invitation for the event was sent out on Monday afternoon saying "See you on the 7th".
The event will be held at 10am pacific time – 6pm in the UK – in just over a week's time at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, the location where Apple tends to announce its new iPhone models.

The new iPhones are thought to bring several new features which could include a dual camera, a touch home button and a dual camera. It could also remove the headphone jack from its latest handset – a somewhat controversial move – with support for sound via the lightening port or for handsfree headphones.
Apple will also likely reveal the date that its latest operating system iOS 10 will be available after several months of beta testing for current Apple devices.
Apple is under pressure to deliver after the huge success of the iPhone 6 led company to record highs last year. The launch of a lower-end mid-cycle device earlier this year – the iPhone SE – left many underwhelmed as it featured the same spec as last year's iPhone 6s in a smaller body. It has been popular among those looking for a pocket sized phone with high spec, however.

Sales and revenue this year slowed for the first time since the first iPhone launched in 2007 amid a wider slowdown in the smartphone. The newest flagship phone, which is likely to go on sale shortly after the event, will hope to attract new buyers looking to upgrade, however, the tech giant may be saving its most innovative features, such as a curved screen according to reports, until next year when the device celebrates its 10th anniversary.
