Apple unveils its next big thing on 9 September
TECHNOLOGY titan Apple sent out cryptic event invitations last night for what is widely expected to be its unveiling of two new iPhones, and possibly its first foray into the wearable technology space its long-awaited smartwatch.
On its invitation the iPhone-maker teases: “Wish we could say more” on a simple black and white background with Apple’s logo.
Apple will reportedly unveil larger 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screened iPhones, a move expected to counter the success of rival smartphone-maker Samsung with its larger-screened Galaxy range.
Reports also peg the event as the launch of the company’s so-called iWatch, a device about which little is known.
If the smartwatch is revealed it will be Apple’s first new product category since former chief executive and co-founder Steve Jobs unveiled the iPad in 2010.
