The decision tomorrow is the crucial point. If the government allows it, and it’s finely balanced now, the market seems to think BHP will raise its bid. It depends on what other undertakings BHP has given to the government.

Given the price of Potash shares at the moment, it seems possible that BHP will raise its bid considerably, to around $150. It may be that as more information comes out, the price could rise further still.
