AB Inbev helped by Brazil sales
Anheuser-Busch InBev yesterday reported a rise in third quarter profit, as a strong performance in emerging markets offset weakness in the US and Europe. The company, which brews Budweiser and Stella, said it expects the fourth-quarter of this year to be stronger than the third-quarter. Volumes in emerging markets such as Brazil and China rose 12.5 per cent and 8.1 per cent respectively, offsetting volume declines of 1.5 per cent in the US and 4.5 per cent in western Europe. The company said it is encouraged by consumers moving to premium, higher margin brands, such as Bud Light, in the US. The company is aiming to make more than £3m in cost savings.
