Twelve parties interested in buying Portsmouth, claims administrator
PORTSMOUTH administrator Andrew Andronikou claims there are as many as 12 parties interested in buying the debt-ridden club.
Pompey became the first Premier League club to slip into administration last Friday after amounting debts in the region of £78m.
But although the club were docked nine points and lie rooted to the bottom of the table, Andronikou insists there is no shortage of interest for the south-coast club, which he values at an estimated £30m. “We have received about a dozen expressions of interest,” he said Andronikou. “We need to sit down first and look at funding. It’s a good opportunity to buy a club with a great history and I really want to focus on finding the right buyer.”
Meanwhile, Portsmouth manager Avram Grant was fined £1,000 after admitting a misconduct charge for comments towards referee Keith Friend during the Sunderland game on 9 February.
