‘I’m in the form of my life, claims gold medal hopeful Meadows
BRITISH hope Jenny Meadows insists she is in the form of her life as she goes for gold in?Doha.
The 28-year-old followed up her world 800m bronze medal in Berlin last August by beating Kelly Holmes’s British indoor record of 1.57.93 in Birmingham last month.
Now she has her sights firmly set on winning another medal at the World Indoor Championships in Doha, starting today, and admits her preparation could not have gone any better.
“I’m in the form of my life,” she said. “I was overcome with emotion in Berlin, but I’m not thinking too far ahead of myself, I’ve just got to keep my head down, do my best and see what happens. I’m in the right physical and mental shape, so to get a place on the podium would be amazing.”
Jenny Meadows is an ambassador of ASICS and was speaking at the launch of Run to the Beat, London’s music half marathon. For more details, visit www.runtothebeat.co.uk.
