I’m so excited that the Flat season is back; let’s hope it is a special and profitable year. Sea The Stars has been retired to stud and there is now room for a new superstar. Will it be St Nicholas Abbey, Canford Cliffs, Arcano or even Inler?
Of course we start the season with possibly the hardest race of the year, the William Hill Lincoln. Doncaster has been rebuilt and re-laid and I’m still not sure where the draw bias is centred. Throw in rain, or no rain, before off time and the Lincoln at 3.10pm is near enough impossible. However, we have a war chest after making £1,228.51 on top of our £1,000 bank from Cheltenham, so we can possibly choose a couple of runners. But remember the flat season is a marathon not a sprint!
The ante-post favourite Penitent has possibly got the perfect draw in one but I think he may fail from a lack of pace around him. As such I’m going to look high as I expect Doctor Crane, Advanced and Mister Hardy to set good fractions, setting it up nicely for COLLATERAL DAMAGE.
The other horse I fancy tomorrow is INXILE in the Cammidge Trophy also at Doncaster (2.35pm). I expect him to have come on a bit from running against Arganil over five furlongs last weekend.
