Ted Baker results receive a boost from Xmas trade
FASHION retailer Ted Baker yesterday reported an almost ten per cent hike in annual profits.
The UK firm saw pre-tax profits of £19.5m for the year until 30 January.
That was up from £17.8m in the previous 12 months.
Sales across Ted Baker businesses went up by 15.4 per cent to £136.5m.
Founder and chief executive Ray Kelvin said: “While we believe that 2010 will be a difficult trading year, we remain well placed to deal with the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
He added: “The brand is well positioned globally, our collections continue to be well received by our customers and we remain focused on investing in our business through our multi-channel distribution strategy.” Menswear rose 1.6 per cent to £88.4m helped by strong trading in the run up to Christmas.
Meanwhile, womenswear sales grew by 14.5 per cent to £75.2m.
