CITY VIEWS: IS GIANFRANCO ZOLA TOO NICE TO KEEP WEST HAM UP?
SUSHIL PATEL | MIZUHO
“Zola’s a nice guy but too nice. He needs to have a bit of oomph to get the guys going. The fans are fantastic there – even as a non-West Ham supporter. It’s hard to sack him because he is a nice guy, but Gold and Sullivan need to sort it out. The players aren’t responding to the manager, and that’s an issue.”
ADAM HYLTON | HERBERT SMITH
“Definitely. They need someone a bit mean and nasty because at the moment they’re not playing with any passion. I went to the game [on Saturday] and they were truly terrible. They need someone in there who will give them a bit of bite, someone who will give them a kick up the backside.”
RORY CRAVEN | BNP PARIBAS
“I think Mark Hughes is probably the best option for them right now – I’m a Tottenham fan and Harry Redknapp is in a good job at the moment, so let’s leave him be. I’m not sure who they need because they are in a lot of trouble. I hope they go down and then sort themselves out next season.”
