Principal Global Investors
The asset management firm has appointed Seema Shah as a strategist and economist in its London-based global fixed income team.
Shah was previously an economist at Capital Economics, focusing on macroeconomic analysis of the UK and European economies. Prior to that, she was an economist within the macro consulting group at accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Matrix Group
The investment banking and asset management group has hired Iain Anderson as head of IT.
Anderson joins from hedge fund GLG Partners, where he spent 9 years as chief technology officer. He also previously spent 14 years at Goldman Sachs within the technology division.
Clifford Chance
The law firm has elected six new partners in its London office, taking the total number of global partners at the firm to 560.
Nicholas Rees and Sumesh Sawhney have been promoted in the corporate team; John Dawson, Anne Drakeford and John MacLennan in the finance team; and Kelwin Nicholls in the litigation and dispute resolution practice.

Simon Randall has joined the law firm as a consultant and Joanna Bussell as a partner to expand its services to local government. Both join from LG.
