the INSIDER
The Dee Stakes looks like a watching race rather than a betting one. Desert Myth has reportedly been going great guns at home and on his sole start broke his maiden well. Some tipsters have suggested that the 2000 Guineas wasn’t a good race after saying all winter that it was a high quality renewal. If they are correct, then maybe this $500,000 son of Smart Strike is the one to follow for the Derby. However, I would like to see a bit more before making a decision and I think he will have a hard task today.
In the first race on the card BRAE HILL (2%) looks the one to beat. I’m not sure that this is the best handicap ever and I can see Richard Fahey having a 1-2 with EXTRATERRESTRIAL (1% Forecast).
In the Group 3 Ormonde Stakes, I’ve tried to find something to beat HARBINGER (2%) but I can’t. Even with a three pound penalty, I think Sir Michael Stoute’s colt should win on a course he showed he can handle last season.
