Capita Group confident as sales pipeline improves
BRITISH outsourcing group Capita yesterday reported solid trading in the first four months of 2011 and said it expected a strong second-half as its outsourcing markets continued to improve.
Capita, which manages TV licensing for the BBC and criminal records service for the Home Office, said yesterday it was seeing a busy sales period, particularly across life, pensions and local government markets. In the first four months to 30 April it said it had signed seven contracts, including extensions, with an aggregate value of £313m.
Capita, which in February said its bid pipeline stood at £4.7bn, said opportunities in British central government were emerging as it looks to deliver its public service reform.
Chief executive Paul Pindar has said the company is interested in acquisitions in financial services and health divisions and establishing itself in providing administration services in the defence industry.
