Blues and Blackpool to join Hammers
THERE are any number of permutations heading into what promises to be a fascinating finale to the season but you get what you deserve after a 38-game campaign, and ultimately for the two teams who will join already demoted West Ham in the Championship next season there can be no excuses.
BLACKBURN
The record books will show the decision to axe Sam Allardyce wasn’t a costly a one. However, I think Rovers will survive by default, Steve Kean has accomplished nothing to suggest he’s got the ability to push Blackburn on. VERDICT: SAFE
WOLVES
In contrast to Kean, Wolves are likely to stay up as a result of the work undertaken by Mick McCarthy, an underrated operator. VERDICT: SAFE
WIGAN
Stoke look as though they’ve switched off for the season and Wigan have enough firepower to ensure they get the result they require. VERDICT: SAFE
BIRMINGHAM
Blues were a shambles against Fulham, have the least mobile midfield in the league and I can’t see them getting anything at Spurs.
VERDICT: GOING DOWN
BLACKPOOL
You’d be hard pressed to find someone wanting the Seasiders to go down but whatever XI Manchester United put out it will be too strong for Ian Holloway’s men.
VERDICT: GOING DOWN
