Adebayor: I want to stay at Arsenal
ARSENAL striker Emmanuel Adebayor insists he remains committed to staying in north London, despite seeming destined to move on this summer.
Adebayor missed Sunday’s victory over Stoke with an injury some conspiracy theorists thought convenient, and admits he is flattered by interest from AC Milan.
“If a club like Milan are interested in me then I cannot lie to you, I am happy, because it is Milan,” said Adebayor.
“But the thing is it stops there – I’m very happy playing for Arsenal, and this is what I always say. I repeat that I am very happy here.”
Adebayor was criticised by Gunners fans for a lacklustre season but the Togo international insists he did his best in the face of repeated injury lay-offs.
“This season I have given 100 per cent of what I have, and I’m looking forward to coming back next season and trying to achieve things,” he added.
“I cannot say I’m very proud of my season, but I’m not too upset about the way things have gone either. I have been injured several times since August, and before this I had never had an injury of longer than a week or two in my professional career.”
