Collins Stewart
The investment banking group said yesterday it will open a new derivatives desk, headed by Roger Sharma (pictured) and Brad Dunstan.
Sharma and Dunstan, who become co-heads of European equity derivatives, joined this week from inter-dealer broker Icap, where they had been working in senior derivatives sales since the beginning of last year.
They both previously worked at Bear Stearns.
Nomura
The Japanese investment banking group has appointed former Credit Suisse banker Jeremy Bennett to the board of Nomura Capital Markets as a non-executive director.
Bennett was most recently a senior adviser at the Financial Services Authority until November 2009, working directly for chief executive Hector Sants.
He also worked for the Treasury in creating the Asset Protection Scheme, acting as interim chief executive until the establishment of the agency.
Barclays Wealth
The wealth management firm has hired Mike Haslam to join its global research and investments team as head of long-only distribution, focusing primarily on the UK & Ireland and international private banking (EMEA) businesses.
Haslam joins from Gartmore, where he was the investment marketing specialist. He has also held similar roles at M&G and Threadneedle.
Bridges Ventures
The sustainable growth investor has expanded its environment team with the appointment of Tom Fourcade as an investment director.
Fourcade, who will be responsible for new investments for the environment sector in the
Bridges venture funds, has almost 20 years of experience in the sector most recently as chief executive of a biomass energy technology company and prior to that, chief executive of a cleantech advisory business.
Eversheds
The law firm has announced that Peter Halpin, practice group head of its company commercial group, will become client services director, while Keith Froud will take up his position as head of the group from May next year.
