Pedersen double leaves Rovers chiefs cock-a-hoop
BLACKBURN boss Sam Allardyce toasted his team’s first victory in front of their new Indian owners.
Officials from Venkateshwara Hatcheries watched on as goals in each half from midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen helped Rovers beat Aston Villa 2-0 in the Premier League.
“Now they have seen us win for the first time,” said Allardyce. “Hopefully, like every Blackburn fan, the players and myself, they will be very happy with the way we have won today and the performance that was given.”
Pedersen’s first came when Brad Friedel misjudged his free-kick which curled into the far corner. He doubled the lead in the 66th minute when he diverted Ryan Nelsen’s shot past former Rovers goalkeeper Friedel.
