KPMG wins award for values
BUSINESS in the Community’s (BITC) annual corporate responsibility index is announced today, with professional services firm KPMG leading the pack with the highest possible overall rating and four Big Tick awards.
The company has been awarded a platinum plus rating for its environmentally friendly offices and ban on short haul flights. It is one of only ten firms to achieve this rating.
The firm also won Big Tick awards for environmental leadership, employability, international work and partnerships.
Its policy of allowing employees one afternoon per month to undertake volunteer work was also singled out for praise.
BITC chief executive Stephen Howard said: “Companies participating in the index may all be at different stages of their responsible business journey, but KPMG have demonstrated that they take these issues seriously and are leading the field in ensuring this is just how they do business.”
KPMG’s UK chairman, John Griffith-Jones, said: “We are absolutely delighted and very proud to have achieved the platinum plus rating.
“We take our corporate responsibilities extremely seriously and to reach this milestone is a key moment for us.
“We strive to put our values at the heart of all we do, for the benefit of our clients, our people and our communities,” he said.
