Finsbury boss Rudd quits as WH Ireland director
ROLAND Rudd, the boss of City PR outfit Finsbury, has resigned as a non-executive director of City stockbroker WH Ireland, citing “other work commitments”.
Rudd joined the board last year as part of a consortium that bought a 26 per cent stake in WH Ireland. Former Conservative Party treasurer Lord Marland, Carphone Warehouse co-founder David Ross and City businessmen Rupert Lowe and David Whelan were also members of the consortium, which drafted in Richard Ford as the firm’s new chief executive late last year.
Aside from Finsbury, Rudd also sits on the board of the Royal Opera House and the Tate gallery and chairs the Britain in New Europe lobby group. He also plays an active charity role with the NSPCC, where he chairs the Stop Organised Abuse committee.
