CB Richard Ellis
The commercial real estate adviser has appointed Sir Michael Lyons and Sir Andrew Foster as strategic advisers to strengthen the government & infrastructure team’s expertise in public sector assets and infrastructure. Foster, a former chief executive of the Audit Commission, is currently deputy chairman of the Royal Bank of Canada. Lyons, who was knighted in 2000 for services to local government, is chairman of the English Cities Fund and a former chairman of the BBC.
AXA Framlington
The qualitative equities platform has appointed Linden Thomson as a portfolio manager in the AXA Framlington healthcare team. Thomson spent five years at Goldman Sachs’ global investment research team before joining hedge fund Clear River Capital, where she was responsible for pharmaceutical and biotechnology stock research.
Barclays Wealth
Alan Colquhoun has joined Barclays Wealth’s Edinburgh team as a private banker. He joins from Coutts & Co, where he looked after international high net worth clients with a focus on non-domicile clients from the Far East, Australasia and Africa.
Westhouse Holdings
The corporate finance and broking house has appointed Andrew Matharu as head of the oil and gas team within Westhouse Securities. Matharu has more than 15 years’ experience in oil and gas at firms including Chevron, Cazenove and Bridgewell Securities.
Jones Lang LaSalle
The real estate services firm has made two hires in its London-based planning team. Michael Lea has as an associate director from Rapleys, and Kerry Radford joins as a trainee planning consultant from DPDS Consulting, where she was a research assistant.
London Bullion Market Association
The metals trading association has appointed David Gornall, head of precious metals at Natixis, as the new chairman. He will be supported by Steven Lowe of Bank of Nova Scotia, who has been named vice-chairman of the LBMA.
Deloitte
The business advisory firm has promoted Joel Greenwood to partner. Greenwood leads Deloitte’s corporate finance advisory practice, focusing on the technology and telecoms sectors.
Baring Asset Management
The investment manager has appointed Clive Burstow to its global energy and materials team as director and resources investment manager. Burstow returns to Barings from BlackRock, where he was vice president with responsibility for analysis across the mining sector.
