IN-RUNNING TRADING HINTS
Market leaders Antara and Strawberrydaiquiri were both given extremely positive rides last time out and I’d be surprised if Frankie Dettori and Ryan Moore weren’t equally as positive in the Windsor Forest Stakes (3.05pm) this afternoon. They both look sure to trade far shorter in-running on Betdaq when sent to the front in the home straight. However, that may well be the time to side with Shamwari Lodge, who will surely trade bigger when tucked in behind her more fancied rivals and she may be able to pick up the pieces if they go too hard up front.
One horse who looks sure to trade shorter in-running in the Royal Hunt Cup is Fareer. He is often ridden aggressively from the front and is drawn straight up the middle of the track. He looks a decent back-to-lay option as he may well struggle to repel all challengers late on.
Finally, the John Gosden trained Maqaasid struggled to hold her position at Sandown on her debut having missed the break. A similar sluggish start this afternoon will see her trade at a far bigger price in-running and that would be the time to back a filly who showed a blistering late turn of foot that day.
