Daiwa Capital Markets
The investment banking arm of Japanese brokerage Daiwa Securities Group has appointed Keith Meekins as chief executive of its subsidiary firm Daiwa Capital Markets Europe. Meekins, who was previously head of fixed income and a member of the firm’s executive committee, will lead the investment bank’s strategy across Europe and the Middle East reporting to Masami Tada, previously chief executive and chairman. Tada will remain chairman of Daiwa Europe.
Russell Investments
The financial services group has rehired its former senior executive Len Brennan, who will join as EMEA chief executive on 11 July, subject to FSA approval. Brennan returns after six years at Rainier Investment Management, where he was most recently president and chief executive. In addition, Pascal Duval has been named as EMEA president.
Novo Altum
Karsten Alva-Jorgensen has joined Novo Altum as finance and risk systems practice leader. He joins from Accenture, where he was a partner in the firm’s finance and performance management practice.
CB Richard Ellis
The real estate services firm has appointed former KPMG partner Mike Atherton to lead the public asset team in CBRE’s government and infrastructure division. Atherton is joined by his former KPMG colleagues Mark Longley and George Griffiths.
Carter-Ruck
Associate Isabel Hudson, the defamation specialist who helped represent Kate and Gerry McCann in bringing libel complaints following the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine, has been made a partner at the media and commercial litigation firm.
Eden Financial
The asset manager has hired former Gartmore colleagues Leigh Himsworth and Dan Roberts as fund managers. Himsworth will manage the firm’s new CF Eden UK Select Opportunities Fund and Roberts will manage Eden’s global equity income fund, to be introduced later this year.
Cinven
The European private equity firm has promoted Supraj Rajagopalan and Soren Christensen to partners in its London office. Rajagopalan is a member of the firm’s healthcare and industrials team and Christensen specialises in debt financing.
PwC
James Quin is the new head of PwC’s financial services accounting advisory business. Quin joins from Citigroup, where he was a managing director.
