Deutsche Boerse nears NYSE deal
DEUTSCHE Boerse shareholders representing about 60 per cent of voting shares have backed a deal with NYSE Euronext, the German exchange operator said a few hours before the offer expired yesterday.
That was up from about 34.5 per cent on Tuesday. The deal needs approval from 75 per cent of Deutsche Boerse shareholders, and then must survive an EC antitrust review that is likely to run through the rest of the year.
Analysts do not expect Deutsche Boerse to fall short of the 75 per cent threshold.
