the INSIDER
Back in the day I used to visit one or two fashionable clubs, including some in Manchester. However, it’s not just the name that is drawing me to HACIENDA (5%) in the big Heritage Handicap over one mile at Sandown (2.35) tomorrow. This son of Kheleyf looks like a typical improver from the Mark Johnston yard and can win what on paper looks a highly competitive affair for the classic generation. Greyfriarschorista ran a blinder in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot to finish third just behind Ransom Note but this colt has been put up another 5lbs for that run and on my reckoning is now in the grip of the handicapper.
BOULD MOVER (4%) looks to have found an opportunity to beat his elders in the Coral Charge Stakes on the same Sandown card at 2pm. This is another animal that ran well at Royal Ascot but unlike Greyfriarschorista I think this should be an easier opportunity for Graham Gibbons’ mount to ease his way into the winners enclosure.
I often take a second look at a Peter Winkworth runner ridden by Jim Crowley and they pair up in the 4.50pm at Sandown tomorrow. OIL STRIKE (3%) looks to have a fair opportunity and his running style might be well suited to the course.
