OLYMPUS
PEN MINI E-PM1
The new PEN Mini is about to be launched, and should be pretty much the lightest interchangeable-lens camera on the market. Among its many features, it takes a leaf out of the Instagram app’s book with filters for pictures such as “pop art”, “grainy film” and “pinhole” to add atmosphere. The filters work for movies too. Price TBC. www.olympus.co.uk
SONY
TX55
This happens to be the world’s thinnest compact camera, at just 13.2mm in width. That stops it from ticking some good technical boxes, including a 10x zoom, HD movie recording, 3D imaging and “intelligent sweep panorama HR mode” for those dramatic landscapes. It’ll be available in the autumn.
