The increase in sales at the online unit provides further reassurance, and there are some faint signs that the company may be able to recapture some of its former glory.
In all, the share price has held up relatively well.

Sales on the clothing side were better than expected as the ranges have improved. I think M&S is doing very well and maybe Marc Bolland was being over cautious if anything.

Despite dodgy weather and the UK general election, clothing sales have held up quite well. The prophets of doom were proved wrong a year ago and we think that share prices should look towards margin recovery.
