The music-loving Cooper adds an acquisition to a busy year
FEW company directors have successfully braved the new issue markets in the past year and now one of them has also completed on a strategic acquisition.
Nick Cooper left Salamander Energy earlier this year, a company he co-founded, to become managing director of Ophir ahead of the group’s London listing. Yesterday, as Ophir announced its first deal since listing he was in the US courting institutional shareholders.
Cooper began his career as a geophysicist with BG and Amoco in the UK and various international locations. Later in his career, he joined the oil and gas team at Goldman Sachs where he held the position of vice president.
He brews beer in Sussex where he lives with his family – he has two daughters – and he’s a music festival lover who last year went to Latitude.
He spends a lot of time travelling in Africa.
