EAT CHEAP IN BATTERSEA
The Fish Place, the recently-opened high-quality seafood restaurant on Bridges Court Road in Battersea – which uses the nearby heliport to fly in fresh catches from the coast most days – is offering a rather splendid deal for those whose wallets need a bit of a New Year respite. From 25-30 January diners will be able to pay whatever they think their meal is worth. The guest who pays nearest to the real price will win a free meal. A TASTE OF MALAYSIA AT WESTFIELD
Malaysia Kitchen, a campaign by the Malaysian government to spread the word about the country’s cuisine, is hosting a winter market at the Westfield shopping centre on 22 January, with a range of dishes and ingredients to try. This follows the Malaysian Night Market that took place in Trafalgar Square last September. www.malaysiakitchen.co.uk
