Etihad moves closer to profit
Middle East airline Etihad has reported a 29.2 per cent rise in revenues in 2010 to reach $2.95bn (£1.89bn). The figures bring Etihad closer to its goal of breaking even in 2011, and turning its first profit in 2012. Passenger numbers climbed 13.1 per cent to peak at just over 7m for the first time. Last August the company announced a partnership with Virgin Blue, allowing the airlines to offer a joint network of more than 100 destinations.
