BILL OF THE WEEK
LADIES who lunch are clearly back in fashion, if this £1,220.91 lunch bill is anything to go by.
This group of well-heeled women headed to Le Cercle restaurant in Knightsbridge for a French tapas lunch last week. They nibbled daintily on a double helping of caviar, quail, duck, scallops, sweetbreads, mackerel, crab and tomato tart, following up their main courses with a few naughty chocolate fondants to share.
All that was washed down with cocktails – with appropriately girly names such as Flower Power, Red Moon and Strawberry Field – a few bottles of Krug rose and Amour de Deutz champagne and another of Vosne-Romanée burgundy, just for good measure.
Let’s hope they didn’t have too far to teeter back to the office.
