Business chiefs join PM in trade mission to India
DAVID Cameron will this week lead this country’s strongest ever trade mission to India, in a drive to boost cooperation between the UK and one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.
Over 50 of the UK’s top business leaders will join the Prime Minister, chancellor George Osborne, foreign secretary William Hague, business secretary Vince Cable and universities and science minister David Willetts on the trip. The business ambassadors include Barclays chief executive John Varley, London Stock Exchange boss Xavier Rolet, Richard Lambert, the director general of the CBI; Vodafone’s Vittorio Colao; Richard Olver, chairman of BAE Systems; and Sir Martin Sorrell, chief executive of WPP.
“We travel with a clear message to every dynamic and ambitious entrepreneur in India,” said Osborne. “If you want to come to Britain, set up a business, invest in our country, then we will support you in doing that.”
