Kaymer cruises to Abu Dhabi title
Germany’s Martin Kaymer is up to No2 in the world after he won his third Abu Dhabi title in four years by eight shots from Northen Ireland’s Rory McIlroy. The 26-year-old leapfrogged Tiger Woods in the rankings after finishing the tournament on 24-under par, having made just one bogey all week. Lee Westwood and Kaymer now occupy the top two spots, meaning Europe can boast the best golfers on the planet for the first time since 1993 when Nick Faldo and Bernhard Langer ruled the roost. “Hopefully I can stay there for a while,” said Kaymer. “It is definitely nice to take over from the player who, for me, is the best in the world.”
