DSGi tips iPad as the Xmas gift to fly off the shelves fastest
APPLE’S iPad has been tipped to be this Christmas’s best-selling gadget, according to Currys and PC World owner DSGi.
The company, which owns 670 stores in the UK, said Apple’s tablet computer will top the list of desirable gifts during the festive season.
DSGi predicts that hi-tech gadgets will be the must have items.
Jeremy Fennell at DSGi said: “There is no doubt the iPad is going to be the number one Christmas gift this year with even more accessories launching it’s only going to make a must-have technology even more attractive.”
DSGi also predicted that Microsoft’s Kinect for Xbox 360 – a controller-free, motion-sensing gaming device – would fly off the shelves.
Other items on the list include the Gran Turismo 4 video game and E-readers.
DSGi announced earlier this week that it had sealed a deal with privately-owned mobile phone group Phones 4u to launch a series of mobile phone outlets in the Currys chain.
The decision followed trials in five megastores over the past year, which proved successful.
