The financial services firm has made a number of changes to its UK insurance group. Tim Edwards has joined as director, with immediate effect, after previously working for the Financial Services Authority. He will be responsible for assisting clients with the requirements of Solvency II.
In addition, Paul Clarke has replaced Mark Batten as chairman of PwC’s European steering group on Solvency II.
Olivetree Securities
The equities intermediary broker has hired Martin Lupton to its distribution group. He will take a lead role in relationship management for key clients, as well as developing the firm’s training programme.
Lupton previously worked at Bear Stearns, where he developed the company’s UK equity sales presence, and at Kleinwort Benson as global head of equity trading. He began his career in 1970 at Wedd Durlacher Mordaunt.
Russell Investments
The financial services firm has expanded its London consulting and advisory team by hiring Greg Clerkson and Joan Lee.
Clerkson joins from RBC Investment Management, where he was a senior manager. He will focus on advising on alternative investment strategies. Lee joins from Deloitte, where she was an investment consulting analyst. They will both start immediately and be based in the firm’s London office.
Hoare Capital Markets
The broker has hired Gianluca Lesina and Isabel Lopes-White to join its fixed income team.
Lesina joins from Macquarie Bank, where he was responsible for the development of absolute return strategies to European institutional investors. Lopes-White has worked at Unicredito, BB Securities and most recently Standard Bank. Her expertise covers emerging markets, sub-investment grade and investment grade bonds.
