THE CITY’S GOT TALENT: OUR TOP TEN LOVELIEST LADIES
1 GEORGIA RAIMES
WORLD FIRST
Last year’s winner, the gorgeous Sarah Davison of RBS Sempra, was always going to be a tough act to follow, but the City has found an eminently worthy successor in the form of brunette bombshell Georgia Raimes.
The lovely Georgia is a forex dealer on the private client desk at World First, and also often provides a video market update published on the firm’s website, much to the boys’ delight (just watch that online traffic shoot up…)
I hear her stunning good looks and sultry tones have earned her a cheeky nickname among colleagues and clients: the “Nigella Lawson of FX”. Richly deserved, as I’m sure you’ll agree.
2 HANNAH WOODLEY
PANMURE GORDON
The Capitalist lost count of the number of people emailing in to nominate the dazzling Miss Woodley, who caused quite a stir when she turned up as an associate director in the corporate broking team at Panmure Gordon earlier this year.
Hannah’s past career history includes stints at stockbrokers Collins Stewart and Noble and some time spent marketing hedge fund Essential Capital Management… that, and a spell of modelling for the Mustard Models agency (hence the stunning photograph on the right).
“She’s beautiful, and a lovely person to boot,” was how one earnest admirer described her. Aww.
3 JOANNE VOWLES
CHARLES STANLEY
Joanne is the freshest-faced of all our lovely ladies, having joined Charles Stanley’s PR team earlier this year at the tender age of 22. (Internal reports say the procession of male employees tramping into the PR office has roughly trebled since she joined.) Outside of work, the blonde beauty is a bit of a sports junkie, playing club netball, running and skiing.
4CORDELIA ORR-EWING
STRAND HANSON
With a name like that and having perfected her sultry stare (see left), Cordelia is certainly the “posh totty” of the competition. After graduating just last summer, she gained experience at Mirabaud Securities and Williams de Broe before being snapped up recently by Strand Hanson as an analyst in the corporate finance team.
5 FIONA CINCOTTA
CITY INDEX
28-year-old Fiona, an account manager at City Index, has the gents all of a-flutter when filming her frequent market updates to be uploaded onto the web. Outside work she goes to the gym and runs to stay in shape, and admits she has a weakness for sunny summer barbecues.
6PAOLA SCAGNELLI
EVERSHEDS
It’s no surprise that associate lawyer Paola made the cut for this year’s hotlist, with her smouldering good looks. A member of Eversheds’ project finance team, Paola’s Italian roots have evidently influenced her hobbies outside of work – good food and wine, music and watching motor sports.
7.KATIE RATNER
SEYMOUR PIERCE
Katie is a corporate broker at Seymour Pierce – where her late father, Richard “Ratty” Ratner, was vice chairman. Bubbly and fun-loving, she enjoys skiing and horseriding, once represented England at elephant polo at a game in Nepal (yes, really), and was also previously a Soccerette on Soccer AM.
8TAMZIN MANNING
KBC PEEL HUNT
Another candidate to swell the ranks of the blonde contingent (and neutralise the age-old blonde vs brunette debate), flaxen-haired Tamzin secured the vote of a number of admirers in the stockbroking community. She joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2006 to work in generalist equity sales.
9LEANNE BARNHAM
F&C
Social butterfly Leanne works as a marketing manager at F&C, brightening up the office with her sunny disposition and cheeky smile. She joined the fund management group a few years ago from boutique rival Skylight Capital, where she was the marketing director.
JILL ROOTSAERT
HENDERSON
At a recent party, the boys were falling over themselves to nominate Jill for the ladies’ hotlist, a year and a half after she joined Henderson from the investment banking arm of Fortis. The lucky girl’s certainly blessed with brains as well as beauty – she’s in charge of Henderson’s currency fund.
