Search is on for successor of ousted HP boss
Hewlett-Packard yesterday named headhunting firm Spencer Stuart to lead the search for a new chief executive following ousting of Mark Hurd.
The former boss was forced to resign for inaccurate expense claims brought to light in the wake of sexual harassment allegations by former porn star Jodie Fisher.
Spencer Stuart will consider both internal and external candidates to head up the world’s largest technology company by revenue as it seeks to draw a line under the embarrassing incident.
A number of names have already been floated by analysts as candidates for the top job, though the company said it will not comment on the process or potential successors.
Hurd, 53, has been credited with turning around HP after he took the post in 2005, by cutting costs and diversifying its revenue base.
