Insynergy
The boutique investment management firm has appointed Nicola Large as its new commercial director.
Large joins from emerging markets-focused private equity firm Actis, where she was an analyst in the investor development group, focusing on the African private equity and global infrastructure sectors.
She also previously worked in corporate finance at Smith and Williamson.
Man Group
Industry veteran Luke Ellis is to join the hedge fund to head up its multi-manager business.
Ellis is due to move over from GLG Partners, where he was non-executive chairman of the multi-manager business and manager of the multi strategy fund, subject to the closing of Man’s acquisition of the firm.
He was previously a managing director in the global equity derivatives and equity prop trading business at JP Morgan.
Clifford Chance
The law firm has elected Alfonso Benavides as head of its global real estate practice.
The in-house promotion sees Benavides, who previously led the firm’s real estate activities in Spain, replace outgoing global real estate head Cliff McAuley. He is a specialist in commercial property, property finance and construction, and has recently advised on several high-profile deals in Spain.
Mercer
The consulting and outsourcing firm has appointed Richard Doig as a senior consultant in the outsourcing business.
He joins from Heath Lambert Consulting, where he was a regional director for total reward and benefits. Prior to that, he was founder and chief executive of Employee Benefits Group.
Quilter
The private client investment management firm has appointed Julian Menges as deputy head of its managed portfolio service. Menges joins from Heartwood Wealth Management, where he spent nine years, latterly as head of portfolio management. Prior to that, he was a director at stockbroking group Astaire and spent seven years on the sales and trading desks at Williams de Broe.
John Lewis Partnership
Non-executive director Jane Tozer has stepped down from the high street retailer after her term of appointment ended at the end of last week.
Tozer has been a director since August 2006. She has also been a non-executive director at investment trusts managed by JP Morgan, F&C and 3i.
