Head of CBI makes first big changes
THE new director of the CBI, John Cridland, has made a raft of changes to his senior management team in his first major act at the top of the business employers’ group.
Cridland, who took over from Richard Lambert last month, has appointed two of his staff to senior roles as he looks to make his mark.
He has made Neil Bentley his right hand man in his former role as deputy director general.
Bentley was most recently the organisation’s director of business environment and has spearheaded campaigns to encourage firms to take up a more active role in addressing climate change.
He will now represent the organisation in meetings with business leaders and ministers.
Katja Hall has also been appointed to a newly created role as chief policy director.
Most recently she worked with the BBC on employee relations, change management and reward.
She will now work to promote CBI policy goals in Westminster and focus on ways to help its members drive the economic recovery.
John Cridland said: “At what is a pivotal time for business and the economy, it’s vital the voice of business is heard in government and across society. These appointments form a key part of my plans to revitalise and strengthen the CBI’s offering to its members and help businesses to deliver a strong recovery.”
