McGrigors
The law firm’s London office has appointed Karl Woolley as a partner in its finance practice. He is tasked with strengthening the firm’s relationship with the City’s banks and his experience in acquisition and funds finance is expected to aid this expansion. Woolley joins from SJ Berwin, where he is currently a partner. Prior to joining SJ Berwin in 2006, he was also a partner at Addleshaw Goddard.
Premier Oil
Jane Hinkley will join Premier’s board as a non-executive director on 1 September. Hinkley, a qualified accountant with extensive experience in international shipping, has previously held managing directorships at Navion Shipping and Gotaas-Larsen Shipping Corporation. She has also acted as an independent director at Teekay GP, an international marine services provider, since 2005.
F&C Investments
The asset manager has announced the appointment of Fiona Prendergast as a client director in its institutional team, with effect from 1 September. She joins from Banquo Credit Management where she has worked since 2004, her most recent role being client relationship manager, a position she has held since 2007. Prendergast has also worked at Merrill Lynch as a senior specialist in product data services.
Commerzbank
The German bank’s corporates and markets division has added six new members to its global FX business. In London, Rahan Qureshi will join the foreign exchange desk as a senior trader. Winston Quek has been appointed head of FX sales for Asia, whilst Roger Sieber joins FX sales for emerging markets in Zurich. The bank’s New York branch has also added several new hires: Joseph Volpicella and Kevin Wilson join the FX sales and FX local markets teams respectively, while Chia Kang Cheam will take up the role of FX local markets trader based in Singapore.
London Capital Group
The financial services firm has appointed Malcolm McCaig as a non-executive director. McCaig has worked extensively in the sector, with experience in risk management, regulatory compliance and IT. He has been a partner at both Ernst & Young and Deloitte, and held senior management positions at Prudential, National Australia Bank and CIGNA. He is currently the chairman of Kent Reliance Building Society and a House of Lords audit committee member. His non-executive director portfolio also includes Unum, Renaissance Capital and Crest Nicholson.
