Banks to sue Dubai Group
RBS, Commerzbank and Standard Bank yesterday launched legal proceedings against a Dubai investment firm after failing to reach an agreement over loan repayments.
The banks said they were left with no alternative after talks with Dubai Group – an investment unit of Dubai Holding owned by Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum – collapsed. “Our preference was always to conclude an agreement without formal legal proceedings,” they said.
