Harry confirms his interest in striker Remy
TOTTENHAM boss Harry Redknapp is waiting to be given the green light to spend this month by his chairman Daniel Levy after confirming his interest in Marseille striker Loic Remy.
Spurs could draw level with second placed Manchester United this evening should they beat Everton in a match that was due to take place on the first weekend of the season, before the London riots forced its postponement.
Redknapp’s squad is set to be tested to the full in the coming weeks, especially considering the injuries to Ledley King, Scott Parker and Sandro that will keep the trio out of tonight’s match and possibly beyond.
Spurs have already been linked to Blackburn duo Christopher Samba and Junior Hoilett, as well as 25-year-old Remy, and Redknapp certainly wouldn’t turn down the invitation to spend were he given the chance.
“They are interesting players, so I would hate to sit and say ‘no, we are not interested’, and then in two weeks we go and sign one of them,” Redknapp said. “If the chairman came and said ‘look we can go and get any of them,’ I would not say no.”
