Grosvenor Group
Former Morgan Stanley managing director Owen Thomas has joined the board of the global property group Grosvenor as a non-executive director. Thomas was most recently CEO of Morgan Stanley’s Asian operation, chairman of Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing, chairman of Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities and a member of the bank’s management committee. He is also a director of the University of Virginia Investment Management Company and a trustee of the Urban Land Institute.
Rabobank
Christian Lawrence has joined the global financial markets research team as emerging markets FX strategist, based in London. Lawrence joins Rabobank from RBC Capital Markets, where he was most recently fixed income and currency strategist. Prior to that, Lawrence worked on RBC’s structured credit sales desk.
Ogier
Real estate specialist Jonathan Hughes, who joined the law firm in 2007, has been promoted to partner, effective from 1 February. Earlier in his career, he worked at Baker & McKenzie and Mallesons Stephen Jacques.
Quilter
Francis Clayton has been appointed as an executive director at the wealth manager. He joins from Collins Stewart, where he was an investment director.
RBC Capital Markets
Marc Fleischman has been appointed as head of hedge fund relationship management in the firm’s global trading client management group. Fleischman was previously a managing director and head of hedge fund sales in RBC’s rates business.
London Capital Group
The spread-betting firm has hired Martin Creek as group legal counsel. Creek moves from Axiom Legal, following roles as legal adviser for Consensus Business Group and legal counsel for Barclays.
Houlihan Lokey
The international investment bank has appointed Steven Tishman as global head of the mergers and acquisitions group. Tishman spent the last nine years as co-head of US M&A at Rothschild.
PwC
Michael Burns joins PwC as a partner in the infrastructure team, where he will focus on aviation infrastructure advisory work. Burns joins PwC from Booz & Co, where he led the aviation industry sector team.
