JLT Pension Capital Strategies
The specialists in corporate consulting and pension scheme de-risking have appointed Martyn Phillips to the new role of head of buyout consulting, with effect from 2 April. Phillips will assume responsibility for buyout and settlement activity across the company. Prior to joining, Phillips was a senior consultant at Lane Clark & Peacock, where he focused on the de-risking of defined benefit pension schemes. He has also held key roles at Prudential UK Insurance, Towers Perrin and Alexander Clay.
Places for People
Simran Soin has been appointed executive director, finance of the property management and development group. Soin has worked for the group since 2003, and has since held the positions of group financial controller and financial resources director. Prior to joining Places for People, Soin worked in senior financial positions in the chemicals sector for Courtaulds, ICI and INEOS.
Russell Reynolds Associates
The global executive search and assessment firm has announced that Clarke Murphy will succeed Matthew Wright as president and chief executive. Murphy will take office on 2 April. He has over twenty-four years of experience in the executive search sector, and joined Russell Reynolds in 1988. Since 2007, he has served as global leader of the chief executive/board practice, focused on building the firm’s presence in the world’s boardrooms.
Montello
The leading real estate bridging finance company has hired Gary Clark as director of business development. Clark has significant experience in financial services, and most recently worked for Credit & Mercantile. He has also held management roles in Northern Rock, NatWest and Citibank.
Broker Profile
The investor relations consultancy has announced the launch of Broker Profile Research, a new venture offering independent research for quoted companies. It will be headed by Philip Sparks, an equity analyst. Sparks has joined from Evolution Securities, where he spent eight years researching infrastructure and technology companies. Prior to that he worked in the construction and IT hardware teams at HSBC James Capel.
Now: Pensions
The new multi employer trust has announced the appointment of Win Robbins to its board of trustee directors, alongside former shadow pensions minister Nigel Waterson. Robbins has had a distinguished career in investment banking and investment management, notably at Barclays Global Investors.
